Valentine's Day Shortbread



This is a wonderful recipe, perfect for kids to take for valentine's day!

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups unsalted butter,softened
1 cup confectioner's sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon red food coloring

Directions:
Turn oven on to 350 degress celsius. Blend butter in a medium sized bowl, using an electric mixer, set at medium speed. Turn the mixer on low and slowly add the sugar. Blend until thoroughly mixed, then add the vanilla.

Turn mixer on medium and slowly add the flour. Turn off beater whenits starts to get a doughy texture. Roll the dough on a clean table, and using a butter knife cut out heart shaped pieces and put them on a baking tray.

With a pastry brush, brush a little bit of red food coloring on very cookie. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets for 10 -15 minutes, o r until edges start to turn golden brown. Serve and enjoy!


Important: Try not to handle the dough too much or it will become rubbery
