Slowly stir in flour and baking powder. Heat up 4 inches of oil in a heavy saucepan or skillet. Lower the temperature to medium. Using a slotted spoon, drop one tablespoon of the dough into the oil. Fry till evenly dark brown on all sides. Place doughnuts on paper towels. Sprinkle confectionary sugar on top.
