| If you love grits or have never had them, try this delicious way of preparing them. It's a wonderful side dish at breakfast, lunch or dinner. Ingredients: 5 tablespoons butter
1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cups water
1/2 cup grits
1 teaspoon Tabasco
Dash of black pepper
1 lb. cheddar cheese, grated

slowly to boiling water. Reduce heat and cook about 3 minutes.
Add onions, Tabasco, dash of black pepper and about 3/4 of the grated cheese. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and place the mixture in a lightly greased casserole. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for about 30 minutes. Delicious with ham and eggs for breakfast or with any pork, beef, chicken or ham. This is a traditional Southern side dish eaten for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
