1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 /2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-1 /2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Beat butter, brown and granulated sugars until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt; add to butter mixture, mixing well. Stir in oats, mix well.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 10-12 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool one minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack and cool completely.
