Add oatmeal, coconut, sunflower and sesame seeds; mix and spread evenly. Bake for 20 minutes, stirring several times.
Meanwhile, back on the stove, in a small saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar and honey. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until butter is melted. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
After 20 minutes in the oven, remove roasting pan and place on wire rack.
Turn up the oven to 350 degrees. Add wheat germ and flax seeds to oatmeal mixture. Pour warm brown sugar mixture over oatmeal mixture and use a spatula to stir until everything is coated. Bake for 5 more minutes. Then remove pan from oven and cool on wire rack.
Stir golden raisins into oatmeal mixture. With a spatula, firmly press down the granola into the pan, making an even layer, and bake 5-10 minutes longer until golden brown.
When done, cool on wire rack and when it's cool enough to handle, remove granola from the pan with spatula.
Spread the pieces on foil and cool completely.
