Maple Syrup Breakfast Cake



This is a lot less messier then the regular way of cooking pancakes, that'll leave you wondering why they didn't include this recipe on the pancake box.

Ingredients:
1 cup pancake mix
3/4 cup maple syrup
1/3 cup granulated sugar
Margarine as needed
plus ingredients as specified on the pancake box

Directions:
Pre-heat the oven at 375 degrees F.

1)Prepare the pancake mix as specified on the package. Stir in a 1/2 cup of the maple syrup, reserving the last 1/4 of syrup for later.
2) Grease a square 9x9 cake pan or glass baking dish with margarine.
3)Dust the bottom of the pan with sugar, shaking it to cover the entire pan.
4) Pour in the batter.
5) Bake 25 minutes or until a toothpick or fork inserted in the middle comes out clean.
6) Brush the remaining 1/4 cup of syrup over the top of the cake.
7) Place back in the oven and cook 3 to 5 minutes or until the cake turns golden brown.


Prep time: 35 minutes

Serves 3.
