Strawberry Preserves



On the east coast people eat this recipe at breakfast time mixed with a little milk with toast and tea, but you can also use it as a jam, or on top of ice-cream or mixed with a glass of milk as strawberry milk.

Ingredients:
1 pound stawberries
1 pkg. strawberry Jell-O light
1 tetra box orange juice
Milk as desired

Directions:
1) Remove stems, leaves, spoiled purplish spots, or white fungus from the strawberries.
2) Wash the strawberries, then mince them in a food processor.
3) Heat the juice in a medium sized saucepan, bring to a boil then stir in the powdered Jell-O. Stir until the Jell-O completely dissolves.
4) Add strawberries and cook over low heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5) Place strawberries in a large clean jar. Keep in the refrigerator.


You can place a small amount of the preserves in a small bowl, add a little milk and eat it with a spoon with toast and tea at breakfast time. Or you can use it undiluted as jam on toast. You can also use it as a syrup for vanilla ice-cream. Or you can add a couple of teaspoons preserves to a glass of milk to make strawberry milk.
